掘れる

ほれる【掘れる】

〔地面などが〕 become hollow; be hollowed [gouged] out; sink.

●V 字型に掘れた溝 a ditch hollowed out in a V-shape

・深く掘れた谷 a deeply gouged out valley.

●雨滴が当たり地面が掘れた. Raindrops have gouged out holes in the ground.

・雨で地面が掘れて溝ができていた. Rain has worn a channel in the ground.

・土が掘れて木の根が出ている. The ground has sunk [subsided], exposing tree roots.
